The author has spent seventeen years investigating the toxic substances that caused a breakdown in her immune system. Each of her fast reading chapters explains a hazard and then provides a safe solution to the problem. Included are hundreds of inexpensive do-it-yourself formulas. The appendix includes pertinent information on the following topics: the harmful effects of common substances, dealing with household poisonings, recommended reading and organizations for each chapter, annotated mail-order sources with addresses and phone numbers, a directory of product manufacturers, an extensive bibliography, and an index. Every household needs a book like this because we can do something about the toxic environment in our homes.
